You are welcome to walk the property. Be mindful of any grazing animals, who will normally keep well clear of you. Don’t go walking in thongs or open sandals if you intend on walking through tall grass. An overhead photo is provided so that you know the boundaries of our property. This is a working property, you may see workers on the property during your stay but we try to avoid it. The workers will keep clear of the house, so as to ensure your privacy. You are not permitted to take vehicles beyond the front driveway. There is a local law that only allows a certain number of vehicles at this rental property, which is strictly enforced. You can never park vehicles on the nature strip, or along the road in front of the property. Please ensure that all gates are kept shut. This is a working farm, it’s important that farm animals (and rabbits) are not allowed entry into the house garden, which could cause quite a mess. There is an electric fence around the house fence and on some of the fences around the property. If you wish to walk the property, please climb over the gates and avoid climbing through fences, which may be electrified for animal control.
The outside wood fired oven cannot be used. We have been instructed by our insurance company that this “open fire” cannot be used by guests.
Please oversee children using the play equipment in the yard.

Yes. The Bar B Q is gas, which comes from a large bottle. The same gas bottle also feeds the Main House and Manager’s Cottage. Please ensure that you turn off the yellow valve at the Bar B Q and clean the cooking area, following each use.

We get many requests for small wedding ceremonies and functions. Unfortunately, the property is not properly permitted or insured to host such events. Consequently, we only “sell” the house for accommodation for eight persons in the Main House and four persons in the Manager’s Cottage and not as a venue for parties or functions.
Though we have no close neighbors, we still have issues that would need to be addressed in order to host weddings or functions. The Yarra Ranges Council actually prohibits holiday rentals for larger groups and special permits and licensing are required to host functions.
If you are still looking for somewhere to host a function, here’s a few websites with some of the “bigger” wedding locations around the Yarra Valley and some smaller ones too;

You can also consider two of our adjoining neighbors, Hanrahan Estate, http://hanrahan.com.au with a large “barn style” setting, with lot’s of outdoor seating and offering a “bring your own BarBQ”. Riverstone Estate, who often host “Marquee Weddings”, have a restaurant, accommodation on site, balcony where they often have live music and best of all…… both have the same view. http://theriverstoneestate.com.au
